Minten then extended Boston's advantage to 3-0 at 2:27 of the second period. After a clever maneuver to evade a defender in the neutral zone, Mittelstadt delivered a backhand pass to Minten, who skated in and fired a wrist shot from low in the left circle, finding the five-hole once again.
Konecny responded just 49 seconds later, narrowing the score to 3-1. After Sean Kuraly turned the puck over in the center of the ice, Konecny was able to seize the opportunity and beat Swayman with a wrist shot aimed at the glove side.
Mittelstadt made it 4-1 at 16:12, following a remarkable save by Ersson, who managed to stop Andrew Peeke’s shot at the backdoor. However, Mittelstadt was in the right place to capitalize on the rebound, scoring with a deft backhand move.
Jeannot further increased the Bruins' lead to 5-1 at 18:40 by redirecting a slap shot from Peeke taken from the right point.
Grebenkin managed to cut the deficit to 5-2 merely 25 seconds later. Although Swayman turned away Konecny’s attempts during a breakaway, Grebenkin skated in to score on the rebound, converting on his third chance.
Finally, Khusnutdinov sealed the game with an empty-net goal at 16:30 in the third period, bringing the score to 6-2. Michkov then scored a power-play goal at 18:19, resulting in a final score of 6-3.
