Evelyn Conway, a beloved member of the Midwest Radio community, passed away peacefully on December 18, 2025, at the age of 96, surrounded by her loved ones at St. Augustines Nursing Home in Ballina. Evelyn was a cherished wife, mother, and sister, leaving behind a legacy of love and memories. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter, her parents, Margaret and James, and her sister, Martina O'Donnell, as well as brothers Sylvie, Michael, James, and Pat.
Her passing has left a profound impact on her family and friends. Her sister, Rita, and her family, including Nuala, Martina, Regina, Anna-Marie, P.J., Tommy, Dermot, Ronan, and Edel, along with all her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, will forever cherish her memory. Julia Rowland and her wonderful neighbors and friends have also been deeply affected by her loss.
Evelyn's gentle spirit will be laid to rest at Hiney's Funeral Home in Crossmolina, F26DH95, on Saturday, December 20, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Her remains will then be taken to the Church of Our Lady of Mercy in Eskeragh, arriving at 6:00 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Sunday, December 21, at 11:30 am, followed by her burial in Crossmolina Cemetery.
